Plane

Learners in a PLANE Supported School

Innovation, Inclusiveness,
and Equal Opportunities

The PLANE programme’s anticipated impact is significant and far-reaching, with the potential to reach up to eight million children. It aims to enhance teaching and learning for approximately 1.5 million children. Additionally, PLANE’s initiatives in education during emergencies are expected to benefit around 600,000 children. We will work with government to ensure strong education systems are open to all, gender-equitable, and supportive of new ideas to increase educational opportunities for the hardest-to-reach children and adolescents.

PLANE (Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria) is a seven-year Education Programme funded by the UK government and working in partnership with the government of Nigeria. Our mission is to invest in a more inclusive and effective education system in Nigeria. We believe in accessible, quality education for every child. Through our three windows of opportunity, we drive transformative change:
  • Window One – Getting the Foundations Right: Enhancing teaching and learning, improving governance, and utilizing data for improved outcomes.
  • Window Two – Education in Emergency: Supporting conflict-affected children with effective teaching and learning, aiding in their recovery.
  • Window Three – Community Support: Fostering engagement and inclusivity, building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • DELVe – Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning: Supporting FCDO and the Windows by providing evidence and data on performance, to ensure learning and accountability.
Together, we unlock potential and shape a brighter future for all learners. Join us on this journey toward a more equitable and empowering education system.

Our mission

The PLANE programme goal is to improve basic education across the state and non-state education systems with a focus on delivering sustainable improvements in learning outcomes for Nigeria’s children, with a focus on marginalized groups, especially girls.
PLANE’s mission is to foster sustainable improvements in learning outcomes for all children in Nigeria. Through our strategic windows of opportunity, we build strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, provide education in emergencies, and enhance community support. By working with governments, schools, teachers, and communities, we empower children to reach their full potential, creating a brighter future for generations to come.
