Save the Children trained 210 Community Based Child Protection Committee across the communities in the JKK implementation states; Jigawa, Kano and Katsina. The training was centered on empowering Participants on how best to identify, report, respond and monitor child right violations, Champion the promotion of their rights through campaigns, awareness, community meetings and advocacy in the implementing communities across the JKK state.

The Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE), a seven-year project funded by the U.K. Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), seeks to improve learning outcomes for children in grades 1-6 and increase school enrollment. PLANE supports government partners at all levels to achieve this aim—with a goal of reaching 1.5 million learners. The early results show promising uptake and success.

Exciting developments are underway in Kaduna State as the Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE) collaborates with the Kaduna State Ministry of Education and State Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to distribute 280,000 learning materials to 725 public primary schools, January 2023. This initiative aims to provide a solid educational foundation for children in pre-primary and primary classes one and two, with the materials designed in the Hausa language.
